Hello!
I'm Jury Hernandez, your real estate agent in Kissimmee, and if you're thinking of moving to Kissimmee, stay right there because today I bring you the guide to Kissimmee's Lakefront Park.
Let me tell you that I have been living in Kissimmee since 2004, and I am very proud to know that we have such an amazing outdoor place to meet, have fun and do what we like the most.
The HISTORY of the Remodeled Kissimmee LAKEFRONT PARK
The city of Kissimmee began a complete renovation of this 30 hectare park in early 2009, its renovation is estimated at 30 million dollars and it officially reopened to the public in April 2013.
And after all that work, this is what we have today: An amazing park with cool areas to relax under the shade and unbelievable amenities!
Attractions: What kind of Amenities does Kissimmee Lakefront has to offer?
- It has two playgrounds.
- A splash pad area.
- A fishing pier.
- Lake Toho marina.
- Picnic Tables
- And pavilion rentals to organize parties or events.
What can you do at The Kissimmee Lakefront?
Personally, I like to come for a boardwalk or ground on the lawn, watch the sunset, and wildlife, and relax.
But, I invite you to bring your binoculars and observe the different birds. To jog, run or ride a bike. Now, if you are an enthusiastic cyclist you can take the long trail that connects the lakefront park to shingle creek.
You can bring your date, your family and friends to a picnic. You can even barbecue on the grills around the park!
And before I forget, If you love boats then I can tell you that you can bring your boat and navigate through the chain of lakes that connect Lake Toho (Lake Tohopekaliga) to the open sea.
Lakefront Park is an amazing place to witness a stunning sunset or sunrise.
And for You Bookworm, A Good Read by Lake Toho
Imagine an afternoon of reading at the lakefront park with a unique collection of books!
Just go to the library which is conveniently located across the street.
You can also visit the Civic Center, right next to the library.
And for you Social Media Lover: The Lighthouse, The Monument of States, and More
You can visit the lighthouse, the landmark Monument or States, really any part of the park to take selfies or family photos and show off your visit to Kissimmee Lakefront on your social networks.
Experience Kissimmee Lakefront Park ACTIVITIES AND Special EVENTS
The city of Kissimmee has annual events such as festivals: including the Rithms and Blues Festival, the Cuban Sandwich Festival (which, by the way, offers some very delicious sandwiches), and the Kissimmee Sunshine Original Chili Cookoff. Not to mention the Orlando Japanese Festival which is now held right here at Kissimmee's Lakefront Park.
At the risk of sounding like an infomercial...
And that's not all!
There are events like Movie in the Park,
which is a beautiful gathering of the entire community to watch a family movie totally free! This happens every third Friday of the month, right here at Kissimmee's Lakefront Park.
And The KISSIMMEE Green Market (Farmer's Market)
Now, I have to tell you about the Kissimmee Green Market (that's how I know the local farmers market). The Little Green Market of Kissimmee is not at Lakefront Park, but it's very close and worth mentioning. The Green Market of Kissimmee takes place every Tuesday from 3 pm to 7 pm at Soho Square in downtown Kissimmee.
Opportunities to become part of the community
Are you already falling in love with this place?
Well, right around the Lakefront, there's a new apartment building called Mosaic apartments that overlook the lake, and we hope there will be commercial space just across the park. Also, mid-century style houses with lake views.
So if you want to start your search here, I leave you the link to houses for sale in the details. But before you submit an offer on one of these cute houses, I offer you a consultation with me. It's free so take advantage. I also leave it in the details below.
